How to Make the Most of Your Third Trimester

Yay, you’re in the home stretch! Congrats on making it this far!

The third trimester of pregnancy can put a lot of strain on your body and mind. Today we’re sharing ways to make those last few weeks easier and more enjoyable.

Make the most of this pre-baby time, Momma! The third trimester goes fast, and once Baby arrives you won’t have as much “me” time for a while.

1. Take Great Care Of Yourself

If there was any time to get pampered, it’s now! Buy yourself a new book or some magazines. Light some candles and indulge in a bath. Drink lots of water and keep your workload light. Get your hair done. A relaxing massage can do wonders, too!

2. Schedule Time With Friends

It can be tempting to just stay home and not schedule anything those last few weeks of pregnancy, but this can leave you bored and feeling anxious. If you’re a social being, make the time to go out with friends and have some fun. If you’re more of an introvert, or you really want the quiet time, invite just one friend over for a low-key, girl’s night chat.

3. Enjoy Time With Your Partner

You will soon have a new addition to your family! While this is exciting, Baby will take a lot of time and care. Spend as much time as you can with your partner. Enjoy just the two of you. Go on a date night. It won’t ever be just the two of you again.

4. Keep Things In Perspective

Obsessing over your due date and worrying about giving birth will not help. Be as prepared as you can, but keep things in perspective. You’re probably tired of hearing this, but try to relax. Baby will arrive when he or she is ready, and you will learn how to be a parent. It’s a process. Find ways to breathe more and worry less.

5. Make Sure Your Nest Is Cozy

Is your home (and nursery, if you have one) as comfortable as can be for you and Baby? Enjoy the nesting process of prepping your home. If you are tired, it may be a good time to hire out a good house cleaning. You may even have a friend that is willing to come over and help out.

6. Put Together An Announcement Plan

How will you announce Baby’s arrival? You could create a phone train or email list to let people know when Baby has been delivered and assign someone the task of starting it. This will give you something positive to focus on in those last weeks of your third trimester. Think about all the wonderful people in your life that will be excited for you!

7. Have A Relaxing Adventure

Is there somewhere local that you love visiting? The beach, a museum, or art gallery? Why not treat yourself to a day doing something you love to do. A local, meaningful adventure could be just what you need.
